The RSVP "America Reads Project" is seeking volunteers to work with first grade students reading below the level of their peers.

Each week the volunteer will report to the school of their choice in the Comal Independent School District (CISD) at a time convenient to both the volunteer and the school to work one on one with the same students each week.

CISD has designed an easy to follow lesson plan for the volunteers to use and will provide all necessary books and supplies. RSVP coordinators will provide training.

This is a wonderful opportunity to bond with a child. Most, but not all, students have received very little family reading attention and respond very well to the attention received from the reading mentors.

Schedules are flexible; only one hour per week is required.
