This is a wonderful program that allows you to make a practical contribution to someone's fight against cancer. The program is very flexible - drivers accept ride assignments as much or as little as they want, and for times and destinations they prefer. Call or email for more information - you'll be glad you did.

I know a lot of people who care for cancer patients, because they have lost people to cancer as well as myself.

Both parents had cancer(one survive and one deceased). Uncle died of melanoma and close friend battling stage 4 breast at 28 years old. I am very passionate, motivated and empathetic to the feelings, and needs current patients and loved ones aren't able to easily ask for.

I was a member of the American Cancer Society Board of Directors for two terms in New York State. I served at Public Education chairperson and Communications Chairperson. I have organized many walks and organized and worked many fundraising "Gala's". My favorite was serving the cancer patient at support groups, organizing a venue, nutition, family issues, etc. I would work resourses to bring speakers in to the support groups. I also visited schools and spoke to athletes on the dangers of chewing and smoking at such young ages. I wrote the programs. I visited homes and helped parents with children that had cancer and worked on benefits for the families. I have been in Charlotte for seven years and I really miss this part of my life. I am an Art Student at a local college. I can teach wster colors or other mediums to children with cancer. Please contact me if you feel any of my past experiences and skills would benefit your group. Thank you, Patricia Langenmayr 794-814-9870

The folks at the American Cancer Society were absolutely wonderful to work with. This event was extremely enjoyable, full of great people, and absolutely fun to work with and photograph. The organizers were very easy to get along with and have very realistic expectations. I am more than enthusiastic about volunteering again and again to help with any ACS event thanks to the great people I met with and worked with here. I would certainly recommend that if you get the chance to work with these folks, it is a delight. I hope I can do this again for them next year!

The experiences have taught me so many things about how to help others, have more confidence, and about life. Working with cancer patients changes ones perspective and how to appreciate the everyday things. I have HOPE and it's because of what this organization does. I am so glad to be a volunteer for the American Cancer Society in Baltimore.
