Volunteers are needed to help at our Mountain View donation center at varous times during the week. Shifts are 3 hours long. Please inquire to find out our current needs. Volunteers assist with post donation needs by monitoring volunteer blood donors for signs of reactions in the canteen area, alerting nursing staff when needed and serving refreshments to aid in donor recovery. Volunteers spend time meeting and talking to our donors during this critical time. Volunteers must be able to make people comfortable, be social and have the ability to make people comfortable. Must be 16+ Background check required for 18+ years Health clearance through our Workforce Health and Wellness is required

Interested in helping in your own community? Help save lives through the collection of vital blood donations. Stanford Blood Center is looking for volunteers to help at community mobile blood drives in the Bay Area. In most cases, we can place you at locations within 10 miles of home or work. We are looking for volunteers with good customer service and communication skills to assist in our canteens. Volunteer will be socializing with our blood donors, make sure they are comfortable, serve refreshments and monitor them for possible medical reactions, alerting nursing staff if a reaction is suspected. Mobile blood drives are scheduled 7 days a week . We work with flexible schedules. Great need for volunteers with weekday availability for 3-4 hour shifts between 9am-4pm. Must be able to volunteer 4 hours once a month, and commit to one year.
