Mission Statement

Bottomless Closet supports women in transition by providing business appropriate clothing, image, and career skills coaching, empowering them to interview with confidence, gain employment, and achieve economic self-sufficiency.

Description

The first workforce development organization if its kind, Bottomless Closet was established in 1991 to address the compelling need for clothing services that would increase the potential for unemployed and underemployed women to achieve economic self-sufficiency. Our focus is on helping women in the metropolitan Chicago area get back to work; taking women who are job trained and dressing them to impress. Our clothing and workshop programs help provide the self-confidence necessary to interview well, sell their job skills and obtain a well paying job. Job readiness, combined with self-confidence in one's appearance, allows a woman to focus on learning the job, keeping the job, and advancing to a higher paying position.

This is a great organization, the volunteers and staff really care about their clients. Items put on sale to raise money are the highest quality designers, i really suggest you check out their sales if you need some professional clothes of your own!!!

The clothes were in excellent condition and 5 years later I still have the suit and blouse and wear it for interviews, because the suit is a designer suit and is slow to go out of style.
