Partners In Care (PIC) is a private non-profit whose mission is to empower older adults to age in their own homes through a unique culture of service exchange. Handy men and women are needed for yard work and smaller household repairs such as handrail installation, fixing a leaking faucet, repairing/replacing toilet fixtures/doors/windows, de-cluttering and downsizing, etc. Volunteers need not be skilled in all areas -- just have a willingness to help. Partners In Care Maryland, Inc. is an Organization dedicated to providing Programs and Services that empower Older Adults to Age In Place with Dignity and Respect, while enabling them to remain actively engaged in the communities they love. We currently have a need for Volunteers in our Upscale Resale Boutique. This amazing Social Enterprise, where Volunteers are the key to its success, is an opportunity for individuals to support our Organization through Volunteerism, and/or donations of items such as clothing, housewares, small appliances and other gently used or new items. Proceeds from the sale of these items directly support our Programs, while also providing a fun atmosphere where friendships are cultivated and engagement is encouraged! You'll have the opportunity to work in an upscale boutique setting, curating unique pieces, helping customers find that perfect item, all while creating an exceptional experience for our valued patrons. Volunteer opportunities in our Upscale Resale Boutique include: Greeter - If you are someone who enjoys engaging and assisting Customers, being a Greeter is a worthwhile and rewarding way to set the tone for everyone’s shopping experience. Cashier/bagger - Greet and engage with customers in a friendly and welcoming manner while processing sales transactions on our easy to use system. Stager - Do you have a knack for decorating? Assist with merchandising activities, including arranging and organizing donations on display shelves and racks to create an appealing and attractive boutique ambiance. Accepting, Processing, Pricing, and Store Placement of Donations - We are immensely grateful to all those who generously donate items to our Boutique. Through our mindful approach of accepting and ultimately finding a new home for these items, we are looking for individuals with a passion and/or knowledge of Retail and/or Thrift Store environments . What's in Store for You? 1. Meaningful Impact: By volunteering in our boutique, you'll be making a direct and positive impact on the lives of older adults in our community. The proceeds from our sales go directly toward supporting essential programs that make aging in place a reality for seniors in need. 2. Bank Time While Building Community: Volunteering with us not only allows you to give back, but it also enables you to build a close-knit community with like-minded individuals who share your passion for helping older adults. Connect with others who believe in making a difference and forge lasting friendships along the way. When you become a Volunteer Member of Partners In Care, you will also be "Banking Time while Building Community". Through our unique model of Service Exchange and Time Banking, individuals are able to bank their volunteer hours for the future (when they may need our services). In addition, family members may donate their volunteer hours to a loved one who is a Member, so that they may receive services. 3. Flexibility: We understand that your time is valuable, and we offer flexible volunteering schedules to accommodate your availability. Whether you can volunteer weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, we welcome your contributions. 4. Personal Growth: Volunteering is an excellent opportunity for personal growth and development. You'll learn new skills, gain valuable experience, and broaden your understanding of the challenges faced by older adults in our community.
